Bob Summers Model 856 Bamboo Rod 8' 2/2 #5/6For sale here is a Bob Summers Model 856 bamboo rod in excellent+ condition. 8' for a 5 or 6 line 2 2. Darkly flamed. Exquisitely wrapped brown silks matching the color of the cane. The grip has the Paul Young influenced thumb indentation. Downlocking reel seat with ring over a gorgeous walnut spacer. Excellent ferrule fit. Original bag and tube included. Made in 1980.
The guide wraps are clear with fine red edging at the ferrules and stripping guide
The front check looks to be made of Delrin with a radius scallop at the very front
Made with Massimo's bamboo ferrules
The reel seat is a pocket cap and slide band over a nicely varnished root burl wood spacer
