Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 Restigouche Fly Reel 6/0For sale here is an Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 Restigouche reel size 6 0. Reel is in excellent condition throughout. Made in 1911. This reel carries the 1883 patent "Edw. Vom Hofe NY" marked oil cap, and has a strong click and fully functional adjustable drag with still bright red indicator dots on the winding plate. Comes with the original Vom Hofe leather reel case that has been through a bit of repair over the years.

All buckles function properly

The script remains clean and bold except for a bit of wear to the serial number on the butt section

This rod feels like a very nice medium to medium-fast dry fly action - a good casting rod

A few of the wraps appear to have received a light touch-up of varnish at some point

Wrapped green olive with olive signatures and olive brown intermediates

The vise jaws will accept hooks from #32 - #3/0

Swift Five graphite fly rod

Dust jacket slightly rubbed on head of spine area

There is a tiny bit of edge wear to the butt cap but that is the only discernible sign of use I can find
