I have a few Acer trees in the garden

I had mine made in Japan

The frame will be supplied rolled in a poster tube protected by PH neutral tissue paper

The paper is so thin that once the print is taken it is wrinkled from the process

A fusion of tradition

It takes a long time to prepare and ink a prawn and then position it ready to print

It is then left to dry and again before sealing with a paper medium

This is the authentic Japanese method of working using a wheat paste which I make in the studio

The artwork has been wet mounted using the Urauchi technique—an archival method traditionally used in East Asian art to enhance the flatness and longevity of the print
